After the [[Second World War]], he studied [[Theology]] at the University of Berlin, and also studied at the University of Gottingen and the University of Basel. At Basel, he studied under [[Karl Barth]]. His works include a book he edited called "Revelation as History" (1968) and "Revelation and the Idea of God" (2001).
