I have been watching Conservapedia with interest for some time. I am intrigued. Your world view doesn't exactly coincide with mine, but nonetheless I feel moved to register a username and contribute. I would normally describe myself as a liberal - but over here the word has very different connotations, and in the present context perhaps it's not the best label to apply to myself! I am also an agnostic - but I'd better not mention that either!

I am often astonished by what I see on CP. I am astonished by the conservative slant. We really don't have these sorts of attitudes and beliefs over here. But I am also astonished by the sheer inaccuracy of much of the content. I don't mean the religious/political/social content of so many articles. Some of it I fundamentally disagree with - but I have been watching what goes on for long enough to realise that there is no point trying to "correct" that. I wouldn't last five minutes here if I did. So I intend to go nowhere near those articles.

But I am concerned about the inaccuracy of much of the rest of the content. I look at CP articles on (for example) Irish cities, and British counties, and novelists and artists, and animals and birds, and British political figures - and they are woefully inaccurate. Not "untrue" as in "I don't believe that" - just plain wrong. Simple facts utterly screwed up. I feel moved to fix what I can. Nothing contentious. Nothing political. Nothing religious. Just simple little factual articles that are wrong and should be corrected.

I care about truth, you see. I guess my truth differs somewhat from the Conservapedia truth in big things. But surely we can agree on little truths. And I will set about tracking down little untruths and correcting them.
