The RJAF uses fighters from the West; in the early days, the RJAF used British-built Hawker Hunters. In modern days, the RJAF uses mainly American fighter jets like the F-16 and French-built Mirages. Here are some of the fighters currently in use:
- F-16 Fighting Falcon (58) MLU and ADF types
- Mirage F1 C/E
- F-5 Tiger II E/F (used for training)
- CASA C-101 Aviojet (used for training)
