The Pennine Hills are a range of Hills running up the centre of England from the North Midlands up to the Scottish Border. As such, they are referred to as the 'backbone of Britain'. The Hills are home to two National Parks, the Peak District (Largely in Derbyshire) and the Yorkshire Dales in Yorkshire. The highest hill in the range is Kinder Scout, in Derbyshire which is 2088ft (636m) above sea level.
