USS Cole (DDG-67) is an Arleigh Burke-class Aegis-equipped guided missile destroyer. It is based in Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia. On October 12, 2000, the Cole was the subject of a suicide attack, carried out by Al-Qaeda, an Islamic extremist group, in Aden, Yemen. 17 sailors were killed, and the United States government offered a 5 million dollar reward for the capture or death of the people responsible.
