It's a matter of goodwill, that's all - benefit of the doubt - generosity of spirit - assuming innocence until otherwise persuaded. All that sort of stuff. It all depends on your attitude - you want him to be troll (which he may be.) Ban him for a time to clarify his intentions (if he wants do so,) but you're leaving him with no wish to do so.
