Frederica Wilson (born November 5, 1942) is the Democratic U.S. Representative from Florida's 17th congressional district, succeeding Kendrick Meek, who retired to run for the U.S. Senate. She was previously a member of Florida's State Senate and State House of Representatives.
Early Life and Education
Wilson was born to Beulah Finley and Thirlee Smith in Overtown, a community near Miami, Florida, and raised in Liberty City.[1]
