:Because Meredith is a woman; one who is proud to be a woman and treated like a woman and loved as a woman and a daughter. At the same time she is happy to be, with her elder brother, one of our '''children''' although she is 22. My wife and I have two children, Markman: a son and a daughter. Not two sons.
:That particular change to the CBP is change for change's sake; there is no way there is a "Liberal" or "Conservative" slant to it. I don't agree with it... the phrase ''"the children of Israel"'' is one of the the most evocative iconic descriptive phrases in all the Bible - only an utter idiot would think for one second that "children" in that context would mean the young.
