Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947) was French Nabi painter and printmake. In 1937 he was honored with the responsibility of decorating the French pavilion at the Exposition Universelle in Paris. Some of Bonnard's works include: Le Moulin Rouge, 1891, The Letter, 1906, Cats on the Railing, 1909, The Dining Room in the Country, 1913, Signac and Friends, 1913-1914, The Green Blouse, 1919, and View of Vence (a watercolor, pencil, and gouache on paper at MOMA).

Pierre Bonnard loved boats, beaches and seaports and loved to pass the time sailing with friends... Pierre liked to paint people, everyday things, seascapes and interior spaces. [1]
