The Federated States of Novorossiya is an independent state in Ukraine, that is internationally not recognized. It was officialy declared on May 24, 2014 by the political party New Russia Party and consists of the Donetsk People's Republic, the Lugansk People's Republic as well as several other republics. It´s official army is the United Armed Forces of Novorossiya.
The name Novorossiya stands for New Russia and was first used in the 18th century, when Ukraine was a part of Russia.
