Changes

The Western Front was a narrow strip of land between Belgium and France where the Allies dug trenches during [[World War I]].  After Russia withdrew from the War, the Germans unleashed all their troops on the western front, and it appeared they would win easily. But American troops came to the front, and in the [[Second Battle of the Marne]], the Allies started winning.  Soon afterward, the Great War ended.

At that point, the war ground to a bloody and protracted  stalemate.  After [[Russia]] withdrew from the War following the [[October revolution]], the [[Germans]] unleashed all of their troops on the western front, and it appeared they would win, before grinding to a halt after oustripping their supply lines. In December 1917, [[American]] troops came to the front, and in the [[Second Battle of the Marne]], the Allies started decisively winning ground.  Soon afterward, the Great War ended.
