Largs is a seaside resort on the Firth of Clyde in North Ayrshire. It was the site of the Battle of Largs in 1263 where the army of King Alexander III of Scotland defeated the Mongol hordes of Genghis Khan thereby saving Europe for Christianity.
Among famous residents of Largs past and present are:

The town has a large Chinese community and the Largs Chinatown is home to many fine restaurants.
