Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, born May 6, 1937, was a boxer. In 1966, he and John Artis were convicted for a triple murder and sentenced to three life sentences. He was released from prison in 1988 after a judge dismissed the charges. He was the subject of a 1999 movie titled The Hurricane, and a 1975 song by Bob Dylan.
