The Lambeth Conference is convened every ten years by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the most senior archbishop in the Church of England. He invites over 800 archbishops and bishops of all ranks from the worldwide Anglican Communion to meet for worship, study and conversation. It is called the Lambeth Conference because the Archbishop of Canterbury's palace is at Lambeth, in London. The current Archbishop of Canterbury is Archbishop Rowan Williams.
