A page about 1940s singing group the Andrews Sisters.
The Andrews Sisters were a 1940s singing group of sisters Patty, Maxene, and Laverne (sometimes "LaVerne") Andrews famous for their song "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B," and songs during World War Two.

Career
The sisters had developed a passion for music from a young age. They began their official music career by touring with the Larry Rich vaudeville troupe. After the troupe broke up, they took several assorted singing jobs and later signed with Decca Records. THeir harmonies landed them roles in many films, including The Argentine Side and Private Buckaroo. They sang on the the most popular covers of the popular World War Two song "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree."

In the later 40s, they sang along with many other popular musicians, recording a cover of "Civilization (Bongo Bongo Bongo)" with Danny Kaye. After the 40s, they fell into a pattern of breaking up and re-uniting without becoming as popular again.

Deaths
In 1967, Laverne Andrews was diagnosed with cancer.
In 1995, Maxene Andrews died of a heart attack.
In 2013, Patty Andrews passed away.
