The report states the goal of the wedge project. From this plan its clear that the Discovery Institute supports the idea that creationism should not only be an alternative to evolution, but the only "science" taught in schools on how species came to be.  The Discovery Institute at first denied that this was their true plan after the document was leaked to the press, but later embraced it.<ref>Edward Humes, "Monkey Girl."</ref>
