The current proponents of Objectivism engage in a self-centered [[nihilism]] that is devoid of [[benevolence]] towards one's fellow human being outside of, perhaps, one's own kin and those who are, for the moment, conveniently beneficial to be associated with. In the [[social media]] era, this might amount to one's "social network" or one's [[Facebook]] "friends" or email contact list or such. This is perhaps most clearly demonstrated by the many episodes where [[Jimmy Wales]] displayed no loyalty towards those who often work for his projects for years without pay, only to be sloughed off as if these were the skin of a serpent the moment they express any reservation about his current plans or otherwise become any sort of political liability.
