The White House press corps is comprised of members of the media assigned by their employers to cover the President of the United States on a regular basis. They are represented by the White House Correspondents Association, which establishes rules of conduct and acts as a mediator in case of disputes between the government and the media.[1]
Often a smaller group of reporters, cameramen, and photographers known as the "White House press pool" is assembled to report back to their colleagues on events where the venue would attendance by the full press corps logistically difficult.
