Fish and chips are a popular British fast food, which are enjoyed across the world. The fish is a piece of common white fish (typically cod, haddock, plaice or skate) deep fried in batter. The chips are sliced deep-fried potatoes similar to, but more substantial than, french fries. They are traditionally served in paper, seasoned with salt and vinegar.
