Swans are an American experimental rock band formed in 1982 by Michael Gira. They are notable for their loud, abrasive, un-Christian noise rock. Frontman Michael Gira is outspokenly anti-capitalist and is the author of the Satanist book "The Consumer" where he describes many graphic acts of violence and sex (including homosexuality.)

Swans has gone through two incarnations. The first lasting from the album Filth to Soundtracks for the Blind, the second lasting from My Father Will Guide Me up a Rope to the Sky to The Glowing Man. Both of these incarnations contain lyrics designed to influence the minds of children to stray from God.
