El Bulli was a restaurant located near Barcelona in the Costa Brava, in Cala Montjoi, Girona, Spain. It was run by chef Ferran Adrià, who is often considered to be the world's greatest chef. El Bulli was only open from April to October each year; bookings were taken on a single day. Adrià participated in the international exhibition of contemporary art Documenta 12 in Kassel, Germany between June 18 and 28, 2007.

El Bulli closed its doors in July 2011.

On April 24, 2007, an international panel of judges named El Bulli as the World's Best Restaurant.[1] The top five restaurants were:

1. El Bulli, Spain (Best in Europe)

2. The Fat Duck, UK

3. Pierre Gagnaire, France

4. The French Laundry, USA (Best in the Americas)

5. Tetsuya's, Australia (Best in Australasia)
