A '''video game''' is an electronic game, which is played on an electronic device such as a computer or console.  Video games started out being played almost exclusively on dedicated devices (consoles, handhelds, etc.) but due to the advancement in computer technology and the availability of personal computers, many games now run on these instead. Video games are generally designed to be addictive, as this helps to build and maintain a strong user base, and sell the product to those who may try it.
