Illegal immigration is when people without legal permission from a country cross the border and proceed to dwell there.
Illegal immigration in the United States
This has become a major problem in the United States, because the number of Mexicans and other foreign born citizens living in the U.S. is growing. Illegal immigrants do not pay taxes and use many services, such as health care and schools. However, many illegals are afraid to use free services, such as domestic violence shelters, out of fear of deportation. Many illegals cannot speak English. Some people defend the immigrants, saying that they are simply coming to find work or to escape political oppression, and that they come illegally as legal channels are not open to them.[1][2][3]
