He was an Arian Christian. As Emperor, he had to deal with the invading Sassanid Persians, Barbarian Invasions and with Usurpations. Constantius promoted Arian Christianity, he suppressed Paganism and made edicts against Judaism. He also tried to weaken the position of Nicene Christianity by exiling several Nicene Christians.
