Oulanem is an unfinished verse-play written by Karl Marx in 1839 which takes place in a town in Italy, written while a student at the University of Berlin. The play consists of seven characters and unfolds in four scenes.
Author and Pastor Richard Wurmbrand argues that the play title is a mixed up anagram of the word Emanuel, the biblical name for Jesus, and points out that such inversions of holy names are standard practice in Satanic cults.[1] According to Marx biographer Robert Payne, "Oulanem was Marx as judge and executioner."[2]
