Charles Everett Koop, MD (October 14, 1916 – February 25, 2013) was the Surgeon General of the United States from 1982 to 1989, under President Ronald Reagan. Prior to being surgeon general, Koop was a pediatric surgeon.
Koop hosted a six-episode documentary series in 1991, called C. Everett Koop, M.D. It aired on NBC.[1] In 1997, Koop together with other investors established a medical information website called drkoop.com.
