Howard Stern being a conservative or not a conservative isn't relevant here. Also, I don't think it's necessary to print what Imus said in here. MountainDew 23:23, 13 April 2007 (EDT)

The article says that an organization made the racial slur, not Imus? I thought it was Imus? Were we misinformed by the MSM? I genuinely thought Imus had called them "nappy headed hos" on air? 50something 12:48, 29 May 2007 (EDT)
Whitewash
I reverted the edit "racist and sexist comments he made" because it is a matter of opinion, and because Imus only made some of the comments. Imus was comparing blacks to blacks, and women to women, so it is not obvious what is racist or sexist about the comments. I'll put in a link to the original complaint so people can read it for themselves. RSchlafly 15:56, 29 May 2007 (EDT)
- I think the point is that he violated a taboo, not that he said anything actually racist or sexist. Some people are "gunning for" various -ists, to discredit them (see Politically correct speech.
- He was popular for his rough jabs, like Don Rickles was, but he stepped on the wrong toes this time. Advertisers starting pulling out, and that's what networks respond to. Good thing he didn't call the advertisers "niggardly", i.e., tightwads, or someone might have accused him of "using the n-word". --Ed Poor 16:00, 29 May 2007 (EDT)
There you go again, Poor Ed, setting up straw dogs of imaginary events that never happened to criticize liberals in your akward way. Niggardly? Pathetic. Where I come from calling a woman a whore is not acceptable. Obviously in your universe it is just an amusing joke, and criticism of it is termed a "witch hunt". And if you don't know why calling an African-American woman "nappy headed" is racist, you are not qualified to edit your own diary, not to mention an "encyclopedia".
