Chesa's adopted mother, Bernardine Dohrn, involvement is suspected in the 1970 bombing death of a San Francisco policeman at the Golden Gate Park Police Station.  The attack happened February 16, 1970, when a bomb placed on a window ledge of Park Station killed a policeman and injured eight other officers.<ref>https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/S-F-police-union-accuses-Ayers-in-1970-bombing-3248056.php</ref>  A [[Chicago]] district attorney named Richard Elrod was seriously injured in the Weatherman riot that erupted during the Chicago "Days of Rage" in October 1969, and he was paralyzed for life as a result.
