LIV is a new golf series backed by Saudi Arabian money, which ends the liberal PGA Tour monopoly over professional golf.  The name is pronounced "live" (as in living) and has another meaning: LIV is the Roman numeral for 54, representing the number of holes played in each event.

The two biggest names to have joined LIV are 51-year-old Phil Mickelson and 37-year-old Dustin Johnson. They are T8 and T26 for most PGA Tour wins, with 45 and 24 career victories, respectively.
