Shellfish is a culinary term for aquatic invertebrates used as food: molluscs, crustaceans, and echinoderms. Both saltwater and freshwater invertebrates are considered shellfish. Many gentile societies have eaten shellfish as a staple diet for thousands of years.
Biblical Views on Shellfish
Shellfish is referred to only twice in the Bible; it is not a topic mentioned by Jesus in the four gospels, and there are no references in the New Testament or in the letters of Paul. Jews, and some Christians, do not eat shellfish because of the Old Testament prohibition against it. So, using the logic employed by some "christians", Shellfish is as unnatural as Homosexuality, and should be avoided at all costs.
