He was born in Lake Charles to Phillip Assad Ieyoub and the former Virginia Khoury.  He graduated in 1962 from Lake Charles High School, later renamed Lake Charles Boston High School and since closed.<ref name=whoswho>''Who's Who in America,'' 2006.</ref>
