:: Hi LT. Yes, I understood your point. Unfortunately, you are trying to explain away the clear Biblical Evidence that Souls exist in the afterlife and go to Heaven or Hell. If it wasn't so, Jesus Christ would never have said that. He could have said what He wanted to say about the Pharisees without that. For me, it is very clear Jesus Christ teaches Souls survive the death of the body and go to Heaven or Hell accordingly as whether they died in the Grace and Love of God, or in deadly/unrepented sin which sends to Hell. God Bless. NishantXavierFor Christ the King 18:37, May 9, 2023 (EDT)

:::Sigh, I just explained (and to reiterate in a briefer summary) that the only reason Jesus employed immediate judgment within the parable was because of its necessity to fit within the larger plot and moral of the story. The fact that He referred to the conscious place of torment as "Hades" clearly indicated that the notion of the lost immediately judged after death is simply fictitious. And elsewhere in the Bible, it's stated over and over again that souls sleep in the the grave (Sheol); see John 11:11–15 for an obvious example.

:::If you take the immediate judgment aspect of the parable to correspond literally, consider the corollaries. Can the souls in a temporary heaven and temporary hell actually communicate with one another (in the parable, Abraham in paradise could talk to the rich man in Hades)? How can the redeemed in a temporary heaven be comforted if they have unsaved loves ones in the temporary hell? If the wicked in the temporary hell start cursing at those in the temporary heaven because intercommunication is possible, do the souls in paradise need a mute button? —<code><span style="background:#FF8181">LT</span></code> (Matthew 26:52) Tuesday, 19:15, May 9, 2023 (EDT)
