Napoleon's Son, the King of Rome (1811 - 1832) was the only legitimate child of Napoleon I and Maria Louisa of Austria (1791 - 1847). He was christened: Napoleon François-Joseph Charles.
After Napoleon's fall, he was named the Duke of Reichstadt. His mother recived then the life-title of Duchess of Parma (also of Piacenza, and Guastalla, Italy).
The young King of Rome was never a healthy child. He died at the age of 21 of tuberculosis on August 22, 1832, at Schönbrunn Palace in Austria.
