James Dale Guckert, also known as Jeff Gannon, is a conservative journalist and blogger in the Washington, DC area. He operates a web site dedicated to fairness and objectivity in journalism. Frequently, he points out double-standards in the "Old Media," as well as criticizing the "Angry Gay Left."
History
Guckert first gained national attention during a presidential press conference on January 26, 2005, in which he, while working for Talon News, asked United States President George W. Bush
"Senate Democratic leaders have painted a very bleak picture of the U.S. economy. (Senate Minority Leader) Harry Reid was talking about soup lines. And (Senator) Hillary Clinton was talking about the economy being on the verge of collapse. Yet in the same breath they say that Social Security is rock solid and there's no crisis there. How are you going to work – you've said you are going to reach out to these people – how are you going to work with people who seem to have divorced themselves from reality?"[1]
Gannon stated that this question was not meant to be friendly, but to expose the hypocrisy of the "Left."
A comment such as this did expose hypocrisy, though not the type Gannon wanted. When curious reporters started investigating Gannon, they quickly found nude photos on Gannons web site[2], found Gannons advertisment as a $200 an our gay escort[3], and possibly most damning for a reporter, allegations of plagerism[4]
At the date of this writing, Gannon is not supported by the Left because of his Conservative leanings. He is not supported by the right as he is a godless gay.
