Roxburghshire is a county of the Anglo-Scottish border region, lying in the Southern Uplands of Scotland. With an area of 666 sq mi, the county is almost co-extensive with Teviotdale. The county is named after the former royal burgh of Roxburgh, which has been in ruins since the 15th century in ruins but still lends its name to a village and civil parish. The county town is Jedburgh and the largest settlement in Hawick.
