Perthshire

Perthshire is a county of central Scotland. Its county town, namesake and largest settlement is the city of Perth. Although the county's origins are obscure, it was most likely established in the reign of David I in the 12th century. The county roughly covers the combined area of the much older provinces Atholl, Breadalbane, Gowrie, Menteith and Strathearn.
