Trump's disdain for Ukraine is not driven by [[geopolitical]] [[strategy]] but by domestic calculations.  His focus is [[China]], not [[Eastern Europe]].  He wants to redirect American attention to [[trade imbalance]]s, the [[Arctic]], [[Latin America]], and the Indo-Pacific.  Yet, Ukraine, framed by [[Joe Biden]]'s regime as the defining battle between "[[good]] and [[evil]]", became an [[ideological]] lightning rod.  The [[Biden]] [[White House]] staked everything on a victory over Russia.  Trump, in typical fashion, sought to destroy that narrative, turning it inside out.

On June 1, 2025 [[US]] [[proxy forces]] under [[CIA]] direction and planning violated the provisions of the new Strategic Arms Control Accord. The New Start Treaty between [[Russia]] and the [[United States]] mandated that nuclear bombers be visible and openly displayed on airfields so that the other side's [[satellite]]s can confirm that each side was remaining within compliance of those New START limitations. Taking advantage of that open display required by US-Russian arms control accords, US proxy forces attacked key elements of Russia's [[Nuclear Triad]]. The attack was a direct attack on the US-Russia treaty itself.
