'''40 Days For Life''' is a [[pro-life]] campaign that draws attention to the evil of [[abortion]], per their three-point program: [[Prayer]] and [[Penance|Fasting]], constant [[vigil]], and community outreach. It is also the official name of the organization which sponsors the campaign.

The movement was founded by David Bereit in 2004 in [[Bryan, Texas|Bryan]]/[[College Station, Texas]] (after [[Planned Parenthood]] opened an abortion facility in the area), the 40 Days for Life campaigns have proven very fruitful. Although the majority of the leadership is Catholic, it is not solely a Catholic organization, but is broadly ecumenical, working with Orthodox and Protestants for the pro-life cause.
