In 2022, Florida Governor [[Ron DeSantis]] signed the Parental Rights in Education Act which liberal opponents have dubbed “The Don’t Say Gay Bill.” Many liberal companies condemned Florida, but Chapek was reluctant at first, and headlines popped up that Pixar employees wanted to put more homosexual stuff in their content, but it kept getting censored by Disney, and many of their movies went straight to Disney+ rather than getting a theatrical release like Disney films such as Encanto. Eventually, Disney made a statement condemning the bill, and that resulted in Disney losing their self governing status in [[Disney World]] with their stocks tanking to below $100. Despite this, Chapek and Disney have continued to double down, and included a homosexual kissing scene in Pixar’s Lightyear which got a theatrical release, and it was Pixar’s biggest bomb since The Good Dinosaur. (Onward was a failure as well, but that has an asterisk due to theaters shutting down early due to the COVID-19 pandemic.)
