Because of his hard work and determination to make the team he earned himself a spot on the New England Patriots' practice squad. Activated for the last game of the 2005 season against the Miami Dolphins, he played well in a losing effort, finishing with three catches for thirty two yards. In the 2006 season Bam Childress was brought up from the practice squad for two games to be a backup receiver for the Patriots and he ended the season with two receptions for seven yards. He is currently signed to a one year deal with the Patriots.
