Changes

[[Liberal Party]] This party evolved from the Whig Party in the [[United Kingdom]]. The majority of members went on to merge with the [[Social Democratic Party (SDP)]] to form the [[Liberal Democrats]] in 1988. A minority of members maintained the Liberal Party name and formed a new party because they felt that the Liberal Democrats had lost the ideals of the original party.
