Barack Obama is a Democratic Senator from Illinois, elected to office in 2004. He is a candidate for the 2008 United States Presidential election. He has the political advantage of having only been in office for two years, giving him little with which to be smeared with. Despite being black and a god-hating liberal, people seem to like him for some reason.
