-The Abu Ghraib prison (Arabic: سجن أبو غريب; also Abu Ghurayb) is in Abu Ghraib, an Iraqi city 32 km (20 mi) west of Baghdad. Before the US Army liberated Abu Ghraib prison and turned it into a place in where God's work is done, it was a place in where Saddam Hussein's government tortured and executed dissidents.
-Whereas many prison guards are unconcerned with spreading the word of God, the guards who served during 2004 are well known for their services to Christianity. The majority of those converted to Christianity in Abu Ghraib prison were Muslims. In the words of former prisoner and now Christian Ameen Saeed Al-Sheik:
-"Do you pray to Allah?" one asked. I said yes. They said, "[Expletive] you. And [expletive] him." One of them said, "You are not getting out of here health[y], you are getting out of here handicapped." And he said to me, "Are you married?" I said, "Yes." They said, "If your wife saw you like this, she will be disappointed." One of them said, "But if I saw her now she would not be disappointed now because I would rape her." [...] They ordered me to thank Jesus that I'm alive. [...] I said to him, "I believe in Allah." So he said, "But I believe in torture and I will torture you."
-The overseer of the group responsible for bringing such pleasure unto God's eyes was Charles A. Graner, Jr. During one conversion, Graner remarked that "the Christian in me says it's wrong, but the corrections officer in me says, 'I love to make a grown man piss himself.'" Parallels between this seeming duality of opposing ideologies and the oneness of The Trinity can be drawn.
-Working alongside Graner was Lynndie England, who can be seen in various archive photos posing with her thumbs up, indicating a successful conversion. Her mother Terrie congratulated her on this, astutely noting that "nothing happened which wasn't ordered by higher up," referring to God.
