Bushwick is a neighborhood within the New York City borough of Brooklyn. One of the original Dutch settlements in New Netherland, today it is a large, working class community composed of mainly Hispanic residents. While strong Roman Catholic affiliation still persists among many residents, the time-honored local values of an honest day's work, charity, and prudence, are being usurped by an incoming "hipster" population.
