Problem of Evil

The Problem of Evil is a criticism of Christianity, which says that if God exists, he must have total control of the universe. Therefore any evil that takes place is within God's control. This posits that either God is partially evil, or their is a second force, typically Satan, that is doing evil. If it is a Satanic figure, it must have been God that created this satanic figure, and is thus, within God's control.
