Massachusetts is a liberal state in the United States. Its senators are two of the most liberal men in the Senate: John Kerry (who unsuccessfully ran for President in 2004) and Ted Kennedy. Massachusetts is infamous for its legalization of same-sex marriage. Furthermore, two known and confirmed homosexuals have served or are serving in the United States Congress from Massachusetts, Gerry Studds and Barney Frank. Massachusetts is also known for being a hotbed of Catholic radicalism and Papism.
