Bilbo Baggins is the title character in J.R.R. Tolkien's novel The Hobbit and also a pivotal character in his Lord of the Rings. Bilbo never married, but rather adopted his orphaned nephew, Frodo Baggins (Son of Drogo Baggins) as his heir. He was the son of Bungo Baggins and Belledonna Took, and master of Bag End after his father.
After his 111th birthday party, Bilbo used a magic ring (Found in his adventure in The Hobbit) to disappear from his guests, before beginning his travels again. In his absence, Frodo received his inheritance of Bag End, Bilbo's possessions and finances, as well as The Ring.
