A UK national daily newspaper known for its liberal, even extreme left-wing stance, being pro-abortion on demand, anti-Bush and critical of Tony Blair's support for the war in Iraq. The Guardian has just celebrated the publishing of its 50,000th edition. Noted for its many typographical errors in the past, it is often referred to as The Grauniad. It often contains articles by radical, agnostic and atheist writers.
Originally known as the Manchester Guardian, since it was originally published there, it is owned by a leftist charitable organisation, the Scott Trust.
