Stroke is paralysis of the body due to problem with blood supply to the brain. As blood supply to the brain depends on a single arterial system, a blockage can result in paralysis of even one whole side of the body. It is caused by high blood pressure, smoking and stress.
Bible describes Jesus Christ curing stroke.
Matthew 8:6
"Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering."
Matthew 8:13
