The Red Hot Chili Peppers are an American alternative rock band which was formed in 1983. Since then, the band has gone on to releasing nine studio albums, (five of which receiving Platinum status). Their current line up consists of: Anthony Kiedis (vocals), John Frusciante (guitar, backing vocals), Flea (bass) and Chad Smith (drums).In 1991, they received a nomination for the Grammy Best Hard Rock Performance Award. In 2006 , they received multiple awards for Stadium Arcadium. They first experienced mainstream success in Blood Sex Sugar Magik with hit singles such as "Under The Bridge", "Give It Away" , and "Breaking The Girl".
